The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses; or, Moses’ Magical Spirit-Art is one of the most influential and enduring grimoires in the Western occult tradition, combining ceremonial magic, talismanic diagrams, spirit conjurations, prayers, charms, and material presented as deriving from the Cabala and Talmud. First appearing in German in the nineteenth century, the work became especially important in American occultism, folk magic, hoodoo, and conjure traditions, where inexpensive trade editions circulated widely through mail-order occult and curio dealers. This undated American edition, issued “Published for the Trade” and comprising 190 pages with numerous engravings, is bound in its striking original orange printed wrappers, prominently priced at $1.00 and titled The Complete Edition of the 6th and 7th Books of Moses.
