On Magick: An Introduction to the High Art
San Francisco: Level Press, 1974. First Edition Thus. 16mo, [6], 75 pages, publisher's original stapled wraps. Black-and-white illustration. On Magick: An Introduction to the High Art, published by Level Press in San Francisco in 1974, brings together several of Aleister Crowley’s concise and important essays on Thelema and ceremonial magick. The volume includes “The Message of the Master Therion,” “The Law of Liberty,” “The Revival of Magick,” and “The Three Schools of Magick,” presenting Crowley’s teachings on True Will, spiritual discipline, occult philosophy, and the historical development of magical practice. Although the individual texts had appeared earlier, this was the first edition of the collection under this title. Compact and accessible, it offers a useful introduction to Crowley’s religious and magical system and is an appealing example of the American revival of interest in Thelema during the 1970s. Some minor discoloration, else in very good + condition. Item #466
