The Message of the Future
Glasgow, Scotland: Star Publishing Trust, 1916. First Edition. 18mo, 157, [3] pages, publisher's original green dust jacket. Publisher's original gilt-lettered blue cloth covered boards. Top edge gilt. First edition, in the original dust jacket, of C. Jinarajadasa’s The Message of the Future, published in Glasgow by the Star Publishing Trust in 1916. A significant early 20th-century Theosophical work, the volume gathers essays and addresses originally printed in periodicals and presents Jinarajadasa’s reflections on spiritual evolution, human destiny, occult philosophy, universal brotherhood, and the religious consciousness of the future. Jinarajadasa was one of the leading international voices of the Theosophical movement and later president of the Theosophical Society, placing this work firmly within the world of Annie Besant, C. W. Leadbeater, Adyar, and the broader esoteric revival of the period. A desirable copy for collectors of Theosophy, mysticism, occult literature, comparative religion, and early 20th-century spiritual thought, especially scarce in the surviving original dust jacket. Some rips, tears, small losses, and discoloration to the otherwise nice dust jacket that is currently in a protective mylar sleeve. Some minor rubbing, previous owner's inscription and occasional marginalia, else in very good condition. Item #312
