In the Continuum [19 issues. Vol. 1, No. 1-10; Vol. 2, No. 1-9]

Dublin, Calif. The College of Thelema, 1973-1980. Mixed Set. Some appear to be first edition while others are reprints with revisions to the text. 19 quarto issues, eccentrically paginated, in the publisher’s original blue pictorial stapled wraps. Illustrated in black-and-white. An important early run of In the Continuum, the influential Thelemic journal edited by Phyllis Seckler (Soror Meral) and issued by the College of Thelema / O.T.O., here comprising Vol. I, Nos. 1–10, and Vol. II, Nos. 1–9. These issues chart the formative years of one of the most significant educational periodicals in modern Thelema, bringing together instructional and interpretive material on Aleister Crowley’s teachings, including discussions of Liber AL, Qabalah, tarot, magick ritual, astrology, initiation, and the practical understanding of True Will. The journal is especially notable for printing writings by Crowley that were then scarce or difficult to obtain, while also preserving the living continuity of the tradition through contributions and related material connected with Grady L. McMurtry, whose role in the revival of O.T.O. was closely linked with Seckler’s own efforts. Taken together, these nineteen issues form a substantial body of Thelemic scholarship and source material, documenting the transmission, interpretation, and reconstruction of Crowleyan doctrine in the postwar American occult revival. Some discoloration, rubbing and wear, else in very good condition. Item #261
